Inspired by Irish Nature

Sharlene Kemple Ceramics is a studio built on a deep respect for tradition, craftsmanship, and the expressive potential of clay. Founded by ceramic artist Sharlene Kemple, the brand reflects a lifelong fascination with the tactile connection between hand, material, and form. Her work celebrates the beauty of Irish nature with delicate hand painted three dimensional porcelain

Heritage and Inspiration

Rooted in a heritage of handcraft and storytelling, Sharlene's journey began by growing up fifty meters from the shoreline and surrounded with a plethora of beaches in Co. Sligo. Summer days were filled with sand and shells. Winter walks on the beaches and woodlands shaped what would become a grá for the little things that make life beautiful . Her designs often echo natural forms- delicate beauty, kinetic energy, and organic textures, mirroring the landscapes that shaped her early creative sensibility.

Values and Philosophy

At the heart of Sharlene Kemple Ceramics are values of craft integrity, sustainability, and mindful creation:

Authenticity: Every item is made by hand and glazed by hand, ensuring no two pieces are ever exactly alike

Sustainability: Sharlene uses Irish made source products where possible. She is naturally conscious of the environment and recycles packaging materials from local shops for shipping. Solar power is used as much as possible for firing in the electric kiln and there is very little waste in the overall process. Her backyard studio is built from hempcrete that naturally keeps warmth in winter and equally stays cool on warm days in summer.

Sharlene views ceramics as a dialogue between earth, water and fire with both fragility and strength. Her studio embraces the rhythm of making slowly, shaping, hand painting and firing, with attention to process as much as outcome. This philosophy results in collections that invite users to pause, notice textures, and appreciate the subtle imperfections that define handmade elegance.
